Pingwire supports both synchronous and asynchronous setups.

We generally recommend a synchronous setup — meaning you listen to the real-time recommendation (“proceed”, “block”, or “review”) as a direct response to your request.

However, you can still configure your rules to behave differently, and pings (alerts) can be created regardless of whether your setup is synchronous or asynchronous.
